No Need to Worry

If you watch the news these days, you might think that the world as we know it is about to come to an end. Rising gas prices, predictions of doom and gloom for the economy, and soldiers being killed in Iraq is enough to leave anyone feeling depressed.
But before you ask if things could get any worse, think again. It's true, you can't control these outside forces. But there is one thing you can control: you! It's up to you how you react to what comes your way.
There will always be something to worry about. It reminds me of the very first week EmmGerri went on sale. We had a booth at a regional trade show, and it was one of my most stressful weeks on record. I didn't know how I would coordinate everything from the brochures to the labels on the bottles to having enough lotion manufactured! To top it all off, I was still working full-time as a news reporter. I didn't know whether we'd be able to pull it off at the time. But you know what? It all came together. Things always work out.
With that in mind, will stressing out, losing sleep, or worrying yourself to death get rid of the grim statistics? You know the answer to that question.
Let go of what you can't control. There's more than enough angst to go around, so why not rise above the fray by meeting each day's challenges with an optimistic attitude? It will make you feel better.
As my Grandmother Emma, the inspiration behind EmmGerri, would say: Make it light on yourself!
