Be Good to Yourself

Ah, winter and its woes. I've never been one who likes the cold. It's amazing: I actually used to live in Massachusetts! To this day, I don't know how I survived. If we're not contending with frigid temperatures, we often struggle just to stay upbeat from day to day. Depression rates soar in the winter months. And why? Maybe it's because we forget who we are.

It's easy to be in a good mood in the spring when flowers are in bloom, birds are boldly chirping their little hearts out, and most of us feel a little lighter on our feet. Well, don't allow the winter doldrums to eclipse that image for you. Your same carefree, happy-go-lucky, ready-to-take-on-the-world self is still there. She (or He) is just hidden under a coat this time of year.

You are still the same person-- no matter what season. Know your worth. As a child of God, you really are royalty of the universe, whether or not a prince or princess ever finds you.

Of course, this time of year, with Valentine's Day hot on our heels, princes are in high demand. Who wouldn't want to be wined and dined over cod and candlelight? But don't fret if that's not in the cards for you this year. Embrace the one you came into the world with... you!

Treat yourself to that pedicure at your favorite spa, a meal at that restaurant you've been longing to go to, or splurge on a new outfit from a trendy store.

It's up to you. Step out there! Don't shortchange yourself. Remember, you are royalty. Make sure you treat yourself accordingly.

Love and Peace....
